Third Weekend
Save the date for 2024’s gathering!
In 2024, we are excited to launch a new offering for cohort members and alumni, which we are calling “Third Weekend.” Third Weekend will be an alumni-led gathering hosted by “third years” that is intended to provide:
a launch point for the cohort member’s alumni experience, kicking off their “3rd year” and giving them a first step in RUX leadership as the hosts of this event;
alumni a chance to gather, build collaborations, and support the new cohort;
the cohort an opportunity to gather after the Community Intensives in a relational atmosphere that is focused on welcoming them into the alumni network.
Third Weekend will be open to current cohort members, alumni, their loved ones, and membership program members. The weekend will include RUX curriculum and alumni-led experiences. This weekend will be optional and self-pay, though we will work with alumni and affiliates to sponsor scholarships and encourage folks to carpool and share rooms to minimize costs for members. Camping is also available on site. Proceeds from Third Weekend will raise money for the RUX microgrant program.
Third Weekend will be hosted in the upcoming year’s host community. In 2024, we'll be hosted at Carter Caves State Park from August 9-11.

RUXers are responsible for booking their own accommodations. Please book your lodge room, cabin, or campsite at Carter Caves (606-286-4411) to receive the group rate. The Room Block is under "RUX," code 4501.

2023 Gathering:
Join us April 28-30, 2023 to reunite (or meet!) RUXers and re-live some of all of our favorite RUX experiences!
Join us for our first ever RUX Alumni Homecoming, April 28 - 30 at Rough River State Park! This gathering of RUX alumni across the years will be everything you loved about your original RUX weekends: campfires, connections, and the magic of seeing your old cohort again. The Alumni Homecoming will also feature fun “choose your own adventure” activities, each led by a fellow RUX alumni, a maker’s market, and more!
As with all RUX events, we have done our best to keep attendance costs low. The participation fee is offered on a sliding scale to support all RUXers who want to attend, beginning at $30 per person. All participants are responsible for booking their own accommodations. Rooms in our block at Rough River Dam must be booked by February 1st. Please note, you will be able to make reservations or register after February 1st, however that is the last day to guarantee the group rate.
Some scholarships may be available for RUX participants who are unable to pay the participation cost.
