Food, Folks, & Stories

  • Ballew Farms 2959 Lexington Road Richmond, KY, 40475 United States (map)

Join us for an evening centered around a farm-fresh meal, Story Circles, and conversations about food, farming, and community!

Hosted by 2026 Intercultural Micrograntees Angel Ballew (Ballew Farms), Latoya Drake, and CraftHersTable

Through Ballew Farms’ Agricultural Community & Education Services (ACES) Mentorship Program, we're working to make farming a little more approachable for beginning and small-scale farmers. We provide hands-on mentorship, business development, and practical guidance to help people build successful farm businesses while connecting them with the resources and relationships they need along the way.

One thing we've learned is that building a stronger food system isn't just about growing food—it's about bringing people together.

That's why we're hosting Food, Folks, & Stories on October 3rd at Ballew Farms. It'll be an evening centered around a farm-fresh meal, Story Circles, and conversations about food, farming, and community. After dinner, we'll also have a CraftHersTable hands-on build activity where participants will make a simple kitchen project to take home, and food educator & owner of How To Eat GoodLaToya Drake will lead an interactive demonstration on safe pickling and food preservation.
