RUXers from across the Commonwealth gather for Network Weekend

From September 25-27, RUX network members from across Kentucky gathered for a weekend of activities & adventures at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park in Carlisle, Nicholas County.

Friday kicked off with a day-long session with the 2026 cohort at Blue Licks, where they became the first cohort to be trained to facilitate key elements of RUX’s Currency of Connection curriculum, including Storycircles and Abundant Futures.

Later in the afternoon, we were then joined by the network at large for a potluck and commemoration of the 2026 cohort. The evening closed out with a classic RUX square dance, which featured caller Will Boling and music by Violet & the Newsroom.

On Saturday, RUX network members hosted a variety of activities and excursions at Blue Licks and the surrounding area, including yoga, fiber arts, writing, hikes, and an excursion to the nearby Sunflower Sundries Farm and to Cynthiana’s Witches Day Out festival (with a lunch at Biancke’s Restaurant).

RUXers reconvened that evening at Turtleback Ridge Brewery for dinner from Burnaco’s and an open mic night hosted by Jim Lally, featuring a reading from author Jerry Hicks, and the Old Washington Wordsmiths.

On Sunday, after gathering at Blue Licks’ restaurant for breakfast, the cohort closed out the weekend by leading a big group storycircle.
